ex 1952 Karmann convertible
A few months later after I bought my 52 Karmann Carsten Reeder arranged another 52 Karmann for me. It looked much better than my one and I decided to buy the car, too. When I was checking the car documents I saw that both cars were built on 29. Februar in 1952!
They stood behind each other in the production line! This car had bodynumber 7715 and my black 52 Karmann has 7716! It is easier to crack a lottery jackpot than finding two split convertibles with following body numbers! After stripping the car I saw that the car was poorly restored. Under the carpets I found glued aluminium foil.
This was the way to restore a car in the seventies. I decided to restore my original unrestored karmann.
